Approach

At Function(5), we strongly believe in the old adage "measure twice, cut once". We all know that means to gather as much information as possible before starting production. We take our education of your business very seriously but we like to have fun doing it. So, what's our approach? To give you a general idea of our approach, we've outlined it below. Please keep in mind that it may change depending on the service you are interested in and the scope of the project. For instance a web development project will certainly take more time and gusto than a simple business card update. With that said and with no further ado...

Discovery

If you're interested in working with us, then this is our first date! We allocate as much time as necessary to your business, goals and ideas. If you live in the Albuquerque area than we would love to sit down and have a discussion. If not, no problem! We would love to speak over the phone or meet over Webex, Skype or Google+. We will certainly set up an initial Discovery Meeting, please visit our Contact page and let us know!
During our initial Discovery Meeting, we ask that you bring ever idea, doodle, factoid, no matter the size. The more information we share, the better! We'd also love to share more about ourselves and why we want to earn your business.

Proposal

After we have a good idea of your business objectives and the scope of the project, we develop a proposal to present. This usually happens very quickly after our Discovery Meeting with an average time of 1-2 days. Our proposal will outline the scope of the project, deadlines, requirements and cost. This proposal brief will be presented to you for consideration and with a bit of luck, you'll invite us back for tea.

The Handshake

Once you've signed off on our proposal, we'll get to work!

Planning

Depending on the scope of the project, the planning stage may be small, however an important step. If the project is larger a project lead from our team will be assigned and if needed, we utilize Basecamp project software. The planning stage will begin by setting an ultimate goal with milestones. Each of these milestones will be signed off and discussed to make sure we are on track.

Production, Development, Design

Now the pedal hits the metal. We begin producing the project. This will be clearly outlined in the planning phase and a specific time frame will be given. Our team has a morning Scrum to make sure we are meeting your needs and staying on schedule. Once production is complete it will go to a first round of proofing.

First Proof

Here's a peak at our work. When it comes to design work, we usually provide several options. If it's development work, we like to sit down and give a brief demo of the software. We ask that you make any changes necessary to get closer to your vision. Once the first proof is signed off by you, we begin fixin' what we broke!

Corrections, Modifications, Coding

Our team, using Scrum will begin round 2 of the project. Again, the time frame of this and all steps should be outlined by our initial proposal. Once our work is done, then it's back to you for a final proof.

Second Proof

The second proof should be nearly exact to what you initially asked for. This phase usually entails making sure all the t's are crossed and the i's are dotted. Once the second proof is signed off by you, we finalize the changes on our end.

Final Sign Off, Payment

The final project is presented and billed. We are all happy because of eachother.

Reporting, Results, Analytics and Maintenance

If the project is requiring it, we will put together a report of the project and whether it was successful or not! If it requires maintenace, like a piece of software needing updates, then we continue this work as outlined in the initial proposal. We utilize Google Analytics for our reporting but have knowledge in Site Catalyst as well as many other services.
